Fourth award for the Lagoon 42!
The 42 has been enticing the industry’s most prestigious magazines since the beginning of the year. As a result, she has just been awarded Boat of the Year by the leading American magazine Cruising World in the "less than 50 feet catamaran" category, making this the fourth award she has won in 2016!
The jury of three experts from the marine industry had to make a decision for the award between a number of competing boats. To do this they inspected each at the dockside and then carried out sea trials in a range of weather conditions from very light winds through to 20 knot gusts.
Less than one month ago, the 42 was awarded "Best Multihull Cruising Boat 40 to 50 feet” by the American magazine SAIL Magazine. A little earlier in the year, she was prize-winner in the Sailing Today Awards in the U.K. for the Multihull category, and in the Asia Boating Awards, as "Best Multihull Sailing Yacht".
We are hoping that the success to date will continue into next year with the European Yacht Of The Year (EYOTY) competition. The award ceremony will take place on January the 21th at the BOOT (Düsseldorf Boat Show). The 42 will be competing as one of 5 finalists.
